Synperonic A7L is a nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE) free inverter for use in inverse emulsion polymerisation. Inverse emulsion polymerisation involves emulsifying hydrophilic monomers in oil to give a narrow size distribution of monomer containing micelles. The polymerisation process is initiated and the polymer is grown. The polymer is then released into an aqueous phase.Synperonic A7L is an inverter which is added to break the polymer emulsion. It releases the polymer into the aqueous phase to give an oil in water emulsion. Synperonic A7L offers the performance of an NPE inverter whilst benefiting from reduced environmental impact.
